What is ALT?

ALT stands for Assisting Language Teacher for public schools in Japan. You will be an assistant for Japanese teachers to teach English to students.


・ Support English lessons by a Japanese teacher

・ Teach English to students aged nine to fifteen by collaborating with a Japanese teacher

・ Show and tell the fun of English learning to Japanese students

・ Come up with educational supplements for lessons

・ Make sure students understand and give your hand to them if needed


・ Monthly average pay (daily basis)

・ Monday~ Friday (Saturdays, Sundays and National Holidays are off)

・ Opportunities for career development

・ Visa Sponsorship available


・ Native Level English (Japanese skill welcomed but not required)

・ At least 12 years of education conducted in English for Non-Native applicants

・ Bachelor's degree or higher

・ Valid Visa to work in Japan (Student visa holders also welcome)

・ Driver's License for some areas
