A secondary school in Aomori Prefecture is looking for a Science and Math teacher starting in the 2024 academic year (April).

If you have the background and desire to teach science or math, but have not had the opportunity to do so since living and working in Japan, this might the right position for you.

Aomori is known for its scenic nature and famous festivals throughout the year. This may be the side of Japan you've yet to experience, especially if you've spent most of your time in the city.

Contract period: April 1 2024 - March 31 2025
Monthly Salary: 280,000yen -300,000yen/month (before tax) + transportation
*Depending on academic background and relevant teaching experience
Working days: 5 lessons/week (Scheduled from Mon to Fri)
Lesson: Up to 20 lessons a week (Science: G7-12 / Math: G7-9)

Duties:
-Teaching up to 20 lessons a week
-Lesson planning
-Material and curriculum development
-Making, proofreading, and grading exams (term and entrance)
-Attending meetings
-Attending school events and ceremonies (scheduled on Saturdays)
-After school club

Qualification Requirements
-Must have a bachelor's degree or higher
-Major in science or math related subject strongly preferred
-Teacher's license (science or math) in your home country is preferred
-Capable of making and implementing lessons based on the school curriculum/textbook
-Must currently reside in Japan and have a valid visa
